No earth connection provided for a metal fitting. The wiring diagram shows clamping down the wire under a metal bracket, but that then means the bulb holder is fitted at an angle. I suppose you could clamp a wire under both sides but this is just a bad design. Avoid it.

These bulb holders are useless. There is no way for the ceramic bulb holder to actually lock in the metal housing. Every time you screw a bulb into the holder, you tighten the ceramic. Every time you unscrew the bulb it will stick and turn the holder which will cut away at the wires in the fitting, this will eventually trip your lighting circuit. Steer clear of these dangerous items that look bling but fail in their intended use.
