What is a conduit lamp holder?

A conduit lamp holder is a lamp holder, typically with an E27 or Edison Screw fitting, designed to connect directly onto conduit pipes or conduit fittings. It creates an industrial-style exposed pipe lighting appearance instead of using a standard flex cable.

What thread size do these lamp holders use?

These lamp holders are designed for 20mm conduit pipe with an M20 thread, matching standard UK conduit fittings.

Can I use these with 16mm conduit pipe instead of 20mm?

Yes. Thread bush reducers, such as M20 to M10 or M16 to M10 adapters, can be used to connect different conduit and pipe diameters.

What materials are the conduit pipes and fittings made from?

The range includes seamless steel pipe with a black finish, galvanised malleable iron fittings, and zinc-alloy or aluminium threaded nipples, depending on the specific product.

Are these suitable for outdoor or nautical-style lighting?

Do I need an electrician to install these?

As these are wired lighting components involving mains electrical connections, professional installation is recommended if you are not confident working with electrical systems. Always follow suitable wiring guidance and safety procedures.

Can these be used for DIY industrial decor projects?
